About Me

Jada Bethea (she/her) is a writer-director-producer known for her 2024 directorial debut, Flour Girl, which premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Pan African Film Festival.

Born and raised in New Jersey, she earned her BFA in Film & Television from NYU Tisch in 2023. Her most recent credits include Assistant to Whoopi Goldberg on the Netflix feature film, Women Like Us, and Script PA on the Amazon MGM Studios feature film, The Frame.

As an artist, Jada challenges hyper-sexual depictions of sapphic relationships through narratives that prioritize emotional intimacy and center the female voice, along with stories of Black joy and resilience. She is fascinated by crises of identity and the things we’re driven to do when we’re forced to hide or change who we are.
